Schmitz, who missed last weekend’s Roar Before the 24 due to her Top Gear filming commitments, will join Patrick Huisman, Frank Stippler, Sven Mueller and team owner Klaus Abbelen.
She replaces Connor De Phillippi, who was provisionally listed as the fifth driver.
“We’re amazed that we finally could make it happen,” Schmitz said. “I only hope that Connor will not be too disappointed.
“He knows his way around Daytona and would surely have done a great job for us.”

Next year, Frikadelli and Beeb have to come back to Daytona and film, with Harris and Sabine as drivers and Evans as lowly pit crew.
